sunday marked the end of the 2014 edition of the athens international film festival (opening nights – νύχτες πρεμιέρας). lots of cinemas, lots of good movies, lots of great people, lots of images.
this post is a “snapshot” retrospective, just like the posts of the previous years (2013, 2012 pt I, 2012 pt II). the photos are mainly set in a chronological order, from the opening night at megaro mousikis until the closing party at six dogs.
I also have to mention the invaluable help of sony greece – they were kind enough to let me have a sony a7s camera. its excellent low-light performance and great high-ISO dynamic range meant that I could regularly reach up to 51.200 ISO and still have headroom to push the images in post-processing. cinemas, parties and bars tend to be quite dimly-lit, and this little camera really does create light out of darkness.
